Information about the trip

We’ll meet at the docking in Monfalcone (GO) to set off for our day at sea.

Once we’ll set sail we’ll explore all the little harbours of the coastline passing in front of the castles of Miramare and Duino.

We’ll then set course towards the town of Piran in Slovenia. During the day you can stop to go for swims whenever you feel like it and you can also take some sailing lessons with our amazing skipper!

If you decide to book the full boat as a group (at least 8 people) you can also choose the full itinerary based on your likings.

Now let’s discuss something very important: food… you can choose to bring your own lunch from home, have it cooked for you on board or jump on the tender and have a local meal in one of the shore’s restaurants. Just remember to let us know if we need to go fill up the galley!

Your guides for the day will be Maurizio and Fausto, skipper and sailing instructor, and Chiara, our very own Tour Manager. Just get in touch with our team, we can customise the experience to your needs!

We have two sailing boats: the Gibsea is 10 meters long while the Vagabond is 17.5 meters long. It depends how big your group is.

The gulf of Trieste and the shoreline of the upper Adriatic

The gulf of Trieste is a 55 squared km-wide area of sea included between Grado in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region and Punta Salvore in Croatia.

The seabed is shallow and sandy in the western coastline, while the remaining part, from the mouth of River Tomato on, is mostly steep and rocky.

The Italian side of the gulf houses the mouths of the rivers Timavo and Isonzo, the Slovenian side the ones of the rivers Risano and Dragogna. While sailing the gulf one can appreciate the alternation of cities and pristine areas such as the nature reserve of the Cavanata Valley, the moth of the Isonzo River, the cliffs of Duino and the Marine Natural Reserve of Miramare, the area of Strugnano and the Marine Reserves of Punta Grossa and punta Madonna and finally the nature park of Sicciole’s salt pans.

The one of Trieste is the northernmost gulf with a mediterranean climate of the world and it’s also the northernmost point of the Mediterranean Sea.

The various conformation of the seabed and of the coastline allowed the development of numerous different activities in such a small area. In a matter of a few kilometres one can go form big group of kite surfers and windsurfers to big sailing boat. This variety also allows you to choose  wether you want to lay on sand, rocks or reef for a day at the beach.

The Gulf of Trieste can please everyone’s needs!
